Hi and welcome to my ePortfolio!
The purpose of the ePortfolio is two fold. Firstly, it is part of as assessment task for EDST441 – ICT Cirriculum and Teaching 1. In this assessment task we have been asked to create an ePortfolio to explore the use of ICT in the classroom. Secondly, it is a great opportunity to express our insight into our own beliefs about teaching and education and to begin assembling evidence for our own accreditation as teahcers once we have completed our university degree.
My name is Paula and I’m a 3rd year student at the Australian Catholic University. I’m studying a Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Teaching, majoring in Design and Technology (specifically Textiles and Food Technology) and minoring in Computers. So far in the course I have completed 8 day-a-week observations at MacCarthy Catholic College at Emu Plains. This was a great experience to see the world of teaching from a teachers point of view, and not a students! Through observing my colleague teachers at MacCarthy Catholic College I was able to view a variety of teaching styles and techniques that I can employ in my classrooms, so my students can gain the most out of their time at school.
To view my progress towards achieving the professional teaching standards set out by the NSW Institute of Teachers, please vist my Certification Blog.
